Started when I tried to open an existing file and now it's crashing as soon as I launch it.
I uninstalled/reinstalled, installed the older Java version, checked Photoshop CS5 in System Preferences> allow these apps to control your conmputer and deleted this plugin: /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5/Plug-ins/Extensions/ScriptingSupport.plugin - I had done all this previously.
Is it time to say Adios? I have Photoshop Elements but there are a few things (like the pen tool/paths) that I occasionally like to use.

Were you able to open other files? Was it just one problem file that killed it?

Have you tried it from a different user account? Could it be a corrupt preference issue?

Is it safe to delete everything in
~/Library/Caches? There's nothing there that seems related to Adobe/photoshop.
I could not find
/Library/Saved Application State folders.
Thanks for your suggestions. Still no luck. It still crashes right after the splash screen.

Thanks for your help Sarcany.
I deleted the contents of those folders and rebooted but it still crashes right at the splash screen.
When this all started, it would open but then crash when I tried to open a PS file. Now it won't even open.

Stickin' w/ CS2 in Snow Leopard and not having any issues, but that may not be an option...
Always have a few older setups available to avoid first world problems, so that the problems can be dealt with more conveniently and not interfere too badly w/ workflow.

I've been using Pshop CS5 in mojave but I am only editing pics or creating new images - not double-clicking on a pshop file. I was about to test it out for you, but got cold feet...
