Is this a good bicycle tire pump for $30? We have "regular" bikes.

Never heard of the brand but 3000+ positive reviews can't be bad. We all have Walmart/Target hand-me-downs. Regular off the shelf retail type bikes. Nothing specialized. We bike at the park 2-3 times a month. Recreational use.

BUT that doesn't mean I'm ok with a junkie bicycle pump. The one linked to above is on Amazon for $30. Decent? Anything I should look for in this price range? I was really looking to spend $20-25. But I figured I'd spend a bit more if it's worth it. I currently use a hand held pump for sports balls to pump up the tires. Hah. No gauge. And a workout. Looking to upgrade.

Never heard of the brand either, but it's a good style pump. We have a very similar looking one from Performance Bike that has been solid for about 10 years now.

Probably. I've never heard of the brand. I have the same head on my pump. Works well. Gauge will probably die before too long. That's a common issue, even on Park pumps.

I'm sad that Nashbar was bought by Performance only to get sold off again. They used to have pumps that were good and less expensive.

Who owns Nashbar now? I went for a ride yesterday only to find that rats had eaten my trunk bag. They were like mini Panniers, Nashbar branded. I haven't been able to find any like it yet. I searched the Nashbar site and found it lacking.

I have a Blackburn floor pump that works well for me, but any floor pump with a gauge will be far better than a hand pump. Make sure it can handle both Presta and Schrader valves.

A hand pump is only for fixing flat tires when on the road.

Some floor pumps are dual action, and they can pump air into the tire on both the up and down stroke. Mine does not do that.

Looks good. I have a lezyne brand pump that I really like but it looks like you’d be paying about twice as much

I bought one to keep my car and motorcycle tires topped off.

A mistake. Very quiet, it won't bother anybody on an early Sunday morning, but it takes nearly forever to add a few pounds to even a motorcycle tire.

A car tire? Forever and a day. Now I have a small 12V Harbor Freight compressor and sorry about that neighbors.

Not that this has anything to do with pumping up bicycle tires.

OMG i did that for about 2 weeks topping off a slow leak on my old car's tires before I decided that was enough and got a 12V compressor for the car. What a workout!

My compressor has a hard enough time putting air in car tires. I can't imagine trying to use a floor pump on a car. Confusedmiley-excited001:

I have a theory that dual-action isn't any better. I wondered about them, and disassembled my dual-action pump. There's two chambers in it - an inner and and outer. Each direction uses one chamber. Pushing one way pumps air into the tire, and sucks air into the other chamber. But that means the volume of each push is less. In fact, because of the chamber wall, two strokes with a single chamber pump will actually push a bit more air.

the reviews get an A rating from fakespot.com, so that's a good sign.

FWIW, you can get a 12v air pump for the same price.
