Just FYI, these work with an Apple TV. I got an Apple TV at a "real" auction in a box lot of stuff and had no remote. Decided to try the remote above that I had, and it worked!

These were the remote for the original Apple TV.

It works with a lot of Apple stuff. Hell, I had this exact same kind when I had my iMac. And one is included in the iPod Nano my daughter had (and that I'm considering listing here or on eBay). When I checked to see if this one worked, I tried it with my current Mac Mini and it worked for iTunes.

Interesting. I got mine with a Macbook back in 2006, I believe. Never had a need for it, so it just sat in a drawer for over a decade.

I used on of these until recently - replaced it with the newer version. VLC responds to it if you ask it to in the prefs. I use it for my TV watching mac mini - yes, these things work with 2014 mac minis.
