[boring expletive-loaded hip-hop starts on HomePod]
'Hey Siri, play some music that isn't hip-hop.'
Now playing Hip-Hop Radio'
'Hey Siri, play some music that is not hip-hop.'
Now playing Hip-Hop Radio'
'Hey Siri, play some music that is NOT hip-hop.'
Now playing Hip-Hop Radio'
'Hey Siri, don't play Hip-Hop Radio.'
Now playing Hip-Hop Radio'
'Hey Siri, do NOT play Hip-Hop Radio!"
Now playing Hip-Hop Radio'
'Hey Siri, STOP playing Hip-Hop radio.'
'Hey Siri, play some jazz.'
'You're giving up already? Quitter. Now playing [unintelligible] jazz radio.'
I'll be so glad when the iOS 13 update lets me call up one maybe two of my radio stations on the HomePod.
Just like Alexa does now.

Hmm. This reminds me of some of my recent attempts to use Siri to send a voice text in my car. I've had the car for almost 4 years, and for the first year it was a flawless process. :cursin:

That was funny, but infuriating. Bear in mind though, that is not Alexa who tunes you up, but the hear-center person assigned to your account

My suggestion: “Hey Siri, I don’t like hip hop” will shape your profile. “Siri play Apple Music Jazz” always delivers.
Also, you may want to (re)visit music.app/browse tab/scroll down to “Genres”/Jazz. There are nice specific playlists.
The radio stations over there are the same you get when you go to music.app/Radio Tab/Jazz.
It bears to mention, iOS device’s music.app play screen: click the concentric circles and triangle button.
Here you can choose to send music from your device to the HomePod.
But below that will be another rectangle named after the HomePod (I also see a 3rd for Apple TV). Click on it and your iOS device’s music.app will basically be a remote contro for HomePod, instead of beaming music from iPhone.
Anyway...

For now, I've cancelled my Apple Music.
I'm going to try Match to see if I can get more of my iTunes librarry stored in the cloud. I've backed up it up to three locations. It's a little hard to update that way, but at least most is intact should Apple get too fast and loose.
Also, you may want to (re)visit music.app/browse tab/
I've never seen that tab, or don't recall seeing it. Where do I find it? Currently, my library is on a Mavs drive, using iTunes 12.6.2 or so (not the latests 12.6.x Apple later provided as a separate HD.
I really appreciate your tips on music and the HomePod. I want to get more out of it, and might start up Apple Music again, one day.

Im happy to help. Re:browse tab, it should be available in iTunes on MacOS too, but it would require an active Apple Music subscription.
