Been hanging on to the last paid version of 1Password, but with this latest Safari update, 1PW is no longer creating a browser extension except for their monthly subscription version.
Time to switch to EnPass (or Chrome).

Yeah, only 1PW7 works with the latest Safari, and I can't run 7 on any of my Macs at home.
But...
If you use 1Pasword Mini, you can pull up a saved "Login" and click the anchor button to float it, then copy the username and password from there into the appropriate fields in Safari.
My primary browser is Firefox, so this isn't a big PITA for me. I only hit Safari when something won't load in Firefox.
...
...If you have all of your passwords saved only in an iCloud keychain, you're begging for trouble. It's a bad kludge that gets worse with every iteration. The contents of an iCloud keychain can easily get wiped. If you clone or migrate your data to another Mac, your device's UID will change and there's a very good chance that the keychain won't sync properly so will be lost/inaccessible on that device. (Not sure why, but some Safari logins seem to be retained and continue to sync. Not all, and not much else.) The reason why you need to re-enter all of your passwords in the Internet Accounts panel after a migration is that the keychain items are stored in the iCloud (Local Items) keychain and become inaccessible post-migration. If you can't bring yourself to invest in a legit password-manager, at least make copies of your important passwords in an encrypted note somewhere safe.

Thanks, I didn't give up on 1Password yet, but I do have some password in both places (1P and iCloud). Thanks for the notice about iCloud. Will rethink my strategy.

guess i will hang onto safari 12 -- although no V13 for me since Im on Sierra and really not looking to upgrade.
FF is my main browser as well, but I sometimes I realize I have 5-6 windows open each with 10+ tabs and I switch to safari to check on a few pages.
bigger -- if I login to a site with one account, but then want to login to the same site but a different account -- where I want 1PW to access the login info... bzzt.
I only use chrome for video watching, no flash.

tuqqer,
From what I understand, there is an option for a non-subscription version of 1Password7. If you download 1Password7, it offers you the subscription options but also the license option. I believe if you go for the license, you lose out on some of the features provided by the subscription model.

I'm still clinging to 1P6 as well, but I'll probably eventually cave to subscription—kicking and screaming. If it it takes me a year or two OR TEN of overpaying until I come up with a reliable plan, so be it. 1Password has been a Godsend for several years, and this may not be worth skimping on.
I trust Apple for a lot of things, but I can't help but think of that time years ago when I tried to log in to my bank at work, and the username populated with our nanny's info. Holy crap! I know this wouldn't have happened if I wasn't lax about my user account on our kitchen computer…but it made me rethink letting keychain handle passwords.
