Picked it up this morning and had it towed over to the shop for the inspection. First, I was surprised at how good of shape it's in.

Things I didn't know:

1. It's '74 not a '72.
2. Has only 18,670 miles on it-thought it had 30,000.
3. Not a speck of rust.
4. My friend spent $4K on it in 2014 and updated a lot of things on it.

And he left me a big Easter egg:

Three Webers! Not a stock arrangement...

Front:

Rear:

Dash: Dig the cassette player and the manual choke!

The shop will give it a good going over and I will replace the old ignition with a new electronic type. Probably the top will need replacing too and hoping it won't need too much more.

But, again, my friend took good car of his cars and I may even be able to drive it before the snow flies!

Triumph Leader! Roommate of mine back in the day had one, a '72. We used to joke about whose car was cooler, his TR6 or my Austin Healey 3000. The TR 6 was definitely less antiquated.
