Interesting Amazon return policy…
#1
I went to Amazon site to print out a label to return an iPhone case I received, which was the wrong size. My fault completely. One of the return options was to take the item, unboxed, to UPS and it would be returned for free. To package it myself, print a UPS label and then return from UPS would cost six dollars. Fascinating.

Or Kohl's

Just bring the item in. Show QR code off your cellphone.
The return receipt has a Kohl's coupon on it if you choose to shop.

I had an item I had printed a label for but couldn't get to the UPS place on the last day. I called and asked if they would give me one more day and they said just keep the stuff or donate it.

I'm going to order a new iMac and give that a try.

FedEx and UPS are able to negotiate deals for individual, big customers.

No doubt AMZ sees this as a perk, but isn't marketing as such, probably to try to avoid big time abuse.

And it's probably subsidized by increase Prime membership costs.

Sometimes shipping and handling costs more than the item is worth.

I don't return many things. One time I was told to keep a $5 item, which is still in the package in the closet years later. Next time I was told to send back a $5 item and I was kinda surprised they wanted it back. Even shipping it back on my dime, they'd still have to process an item that was probably $1 wholesale.
