I've had the original Echo "Pringles can" since it was first introduced in 2015 and I jhaven't seen anything Amazon released since that can improve on that. None of the subsequent Echo or Echo Show devices proved to be better.

I've got a couple of the originals. And a couple of Dots. I have one Spot b/c we had a Dot connected to the stereo in the living room. And a separate clock. So I got the Spot to replace the Dot and the clock. That's about as extravagant as I get.

I like the Echo Glow as a nightstand light when I don't want to be blinded by 100W of light.

Making something like the Glow Dot would likely get some money for me.

It’s exciting, I just wish isn’t wasn’t Amazon building the ecosystem. Apple’s HomeKit is hit or miss, and falling behind.

My wife is disabled. I’d spend a lot of money on interconnected home automation devices: lights, hvac, video doorbell, microwave, bathroom sink, roomba, window shades. But it has to work and it can’t need replacing in five years, not if I’m spending thousands of dollars on it.
