Been listening to a lot more music lately. I started a Gillian Welch station on Pandora that I really like. Been giving thumbs up to lots of other artists that have been played.

From Wikipedia:

She performs with her musical partner, guitarist David Rawlings. Their sparse and dark musical style, which combines elements of Appalachian music, bluegrass, country and Americana, is described by The New Yorker as "at once innovative and obliquely reminiscent of past rural forms."

The Yardbirds, Renaissance, and Led Zeppelin.

How the Yardbirds could split into the latter two groups is bizarre to me.
Listen to "Carpet of the Sun" from Renaissance and "Black Dog" from Led Zeppelin, and explain to me how either of those groups descends from the Yardbirds, let alone both of them.

I stumbled across a snippet of Dave Brubeck's "Kathy's Waltz" so I'm going to listen to the whole "Take Five" album on the big speakers tonight.
