I May Be the Last To Know™ - iPhone hidden scanner feature
#1
Well. iPhones have a scanner feature.

Granted, most of the time, a picture will do. But given that so many of us will be working from the home for the foreseeable future, there will be times that having a multiple-page, signable method on our phones is a good thing to know.

Full article is below, but here are the main details:

1. Open Notes app.
2. Open existing or new note.
3. Tap on the camera icon in the menu.
4. Choose "Scan Documents"
5. Scan as many pages as you want. You can also use the markup option and add your signature or input text. This is obviously handy if the document you scanned is a form you need to fill out.

Who knew? Works pretty well based on a couple of quick tests...

Count me in too, for the longest time I’ve been just taking photos and manipulating them with the editing features.

It's not available on my 4S iOS9.35. What is the earliest version that has it because I want it on my next phone?

Thanks for the tip!

I shrugged my shoulders a bit when I read your post because I have a couple of apps that are pretty good at this (Scanner Pro and Genius Scan), but I rarely use them. Both do a great job on the scan, but whether they are saving to Files or syncing with Dropbox, something is lacking when it comes to user friendliness and integration. Saving something directly to Notes seems even easier.

It remains to be seen how much I'll use it, but I just scanned a document off my desk in nearly complete darkness, and it's immediately in Notes on my Mac.

Looks like it came with iOS 11.
