From the I Hate It When This Happens Dept...
#1
In watching the SpaceX booster recovery operation, I'm always frustrated by the loss of the video feed just as the booster approaches the barge.

This is especially frustrating after witnessing that fantastic dual landing ballet.

THAT was freakin' awesome and almost unbelievable.

If Musk had said 'HAha! It was an IML joint' I would have believed it.

Here's a video to explain what happens with barge landings, if there's anybody besides I, that didn't know exactly what was happening.

The short version;
The rocket engines shake the bejeezus out of the transmitter and knock out the connection temporarily.

Instead of another ship, why not put the transmitter on a tethered buoy? They could also transmit to a drone that uploads to satellite. Drone could return to the barge once the rocket has landed.
