So there I am watching Hamilton on Disney Plus and getting into the catchy energetic presentation and then full stop. This songs describes the aftermath of Hamilton's oldest son, Phillip. Before that, according to internet comments, his sister in law Peggy died. The Hamilton's were also dealing with the fallout of Alexander's affair with details made public.
It's Quiet Uptown

Hamilton is amazing art. You have just stopped at one of its powerful paintings.
Thanks for posting - it was good to just listen with lyrics. Having the actors on stage was distracting from some key aspects of that song.

First watch I didn't understand a lot of the words, but then we turned on subtitles!! Agree, very powerful scene.

I wasn't interested in Hamilton but signed for Disney+ anyway and took a peek.
Took 2 scenes. I was hooked. Third time through & anxious to block out 2.5h for a fourth.
Highly recommended

in theater this is known as the 11:00 song. the song late in the 2nd act (usually within half an hour of the end) that is a key moment for the protagonist and the absolute emotional show-stopper of the night. another example would be Send In the Clowns from "A Little Night Music."
when i first listened to the Hamilton soundtrack a few years ago and heard Quiet Uptown I went, oh, that must be the 11:00 song.

I haven't seen Hamilton (yet) but this little bit almost brought me to tears.
