What is a slogan that has influenced you?
#1
"Where's the beef?" Though the commercial is about hamburgers, I have used it to closely look at the actions and deeds of others and not just hear slick sales pitches.

"Toffo. A man's gotta chew what a man's gotta chew."
It encouraged me to eat as much Toffo as I could.

Start slow and taper off.

"Like a Rock..."

Gawd I got so SICK of that commercial! Not that it was bad, but because it was played so often. Ruined that Bob Seger album for me.

Posted on the wall of my very first engineering lab in college:

“If you can’t find the time to do it right, how will you find the time to do it again?”

See my sig for the other one.

Everyone needs to believe in something. I believe I'll have another beer.

"Where's the beef?"

Famously co-opted by politicians in the 1984 Democratic debates.

From my Boy Scout days, long ago:
"Be Prepared"

I think I've internalized this throughout my life to mean "assume things are going to go wrong, and have a contingency plan for when they do", and has probably saved me from worse trouble an untold number of times over the decades.
