iPhone 6S can no longer receive emailed text messages
#1
My mom and her husband both converted from Verizon to Xfinity voice and both have iPhone 6S's. Since Xfinity still uses Verizon the email to text format is still [insert 10-digit number]@vtext.com.

Her husband receives the emailed text messages fine but I can't figure out how to get hers to receive them. She used to receive them fine before the change. This feature is needed as their security system sends them text messages using this format.

I have tried getting it to work but am stumped. They called Xfinity and they say there is nothing wrong. I believe it is something on their end. They keep calling the Security company even though I keep telling them it is not their problem.

Any ideas?

Maybe try sending to "[phone number]@mypixmessages.com"

There are two ways to text an email to Xfinity phones besides plain old phone number texting.

using: "[phone number]@vtext.com" works for straight text ONLY. Also, a character limit is in place.

using: "[phone number]@mypixmessages.com" works for text, photos, etc. Characters are not limited to 140.

Oops, haven't tried that yet so am testing it now. Another problem with the security system generated text messages is that you have to select your provider from a dropdown list and cannot free type the string as shown above.

Does she receive non-emailed text messages normally (regular SMS texts sent to her cell number from another cell phone)?

Number@vwpix.com is another on the link that you can try.

This is the problem. Unfortunately it doesn't point to a solution.

Ok i verified this works. Now have to work with security provider to add this option to the dropdown. They have no listing for XFINITY in their list of hundreds of providers.
