Good. There was a customer on an American flight who was kicked off the flight since she refused to wear a mask.

I just had this conversation with my partner an hour ago.

No fucking idea. The only common thread I can see is that they are ignoring the idea that their right to not wear a mask if they don't want to is NOT more important or valid than the rest of the passenger's Right to Life.

It is very easy to see and understand that I have the Right to Free Speech. But I also know and understand that at certain times, in certain places, certain types of Free Speech might get me killed. So I choose to NOT exercise that Right. Doesn't mean I gave up or forfeited that Right, I just chose to not exercise it at that time and place.

Wear the Fucking Mask!

A grocery store in my area had a maskhole pull a gun after being asked to wear a mask.

I hope Delta charges her the cost of that flight disruption. She knew the rules before boarding, was reminded before the plane pulled away, and was told the consequences when she still refused.

Charging her a few thousand for fuel, time, etc may send a message to others.

I agree, but I don't understand how mask wearing is related to free speech.

I know that's a rhetorical question, but I'll answer it anyway :
It's not.

It's not.

It most certainly is in this context.

But that doesn't make it permissible.

Freedom of speech may be curtailed for many reasons, not the least of which is a public health emergency.

...And private companies -- even ones subject to common carriage regs -- may place their own restrictions on speech within their places of business.

...And there's also the matter of showing courtesy for your fellows. These days, someone refusing to wear a mask in close quarters is potentially terrorizing others in the same space.

Here's another way of putting it: Taking your pants off and groping yourself in public may well be a political statement and a part of your ongoing public art-project, but it's still going to get you arrested in most places, and they're not going to let you on a plane like that.
