Why are so many drug ads filmed in slow motion?
#1
I could be wrong, but I would say that most drug ads are filmed in slow motion and the reverse is also tru, if there are ads filmed in slow motion, is is probably a drug.

Of course there are exceptions, but I think the coloration is pretty good.

One thing I've noticed with a couple drug ads is that the "talent" are wearing masks. So with the completely generic settings most drug companies use to sell their wares + everyone wearing masks, they have effectively created "stock" ads. So you can just insert whatever VoiceOver you want and it can become a beer ad. Or an eyeglasses ad.

"...ask your doctor about the benefits of switching to [[ Duff's beer ]] ! Ask for it by name!
Not available in all locations. Side effects may include excessive bloat, wallet deflation, virulent opinionating, loss of social skills, smooth brain syndrome, and other symptomatic presentations. As always, [[ drink ]] responsibly. [[ Drink ]] more. [[ Drink Duff's ]]"

They're also longer than the conventional :30. So slowing down the action fills more time. But bazookaman is right. Looks like stock footage. Just insert [your drug name] here.

I've noticed this in most of the ads, even for pet meds...

Side effects may include blah blah blah... or death.

Should death occur, tell your doctor before discontinuing use...

Oh, and one of them doesn't say "death". They say a "fatal event".

It is helping to introduce an atmosphere of calm and safety. This is despite the deadly side effects being rapidly recited. It's a deadly dirty trick.

Because they need time to tell you about a**l leakage, cancer, kidney failure, paralysis, potential death, and other side effects.
