Sound bar under tv?

Best Buy is coming to mount a 55" tv to the wall and I'm wondering if I can mount a sound bar to the bottom of it. It's a secondary viewing room so it doesn't need a great stereo. Any recommendations?

No name/model recommendations from me, but I'd have to think that any TV that's big enough to rate wall mounting would have an option for an attached sound bar.

I don't know that there's a standard for that, de facto or otherwise, like VESA. for sound bars.

If you don't want one mounted to the wall under the set, I'd guess there would be a DIY workaround to mate the two, assuming you have the time, tools, and inclination to give it a go.

Speaking of soundbars has anyone tried this one, I've been hearing good things about it because it has different levels of enhancing voices over the ridiculously loud background music so many movies and shows have these days. I'm losing my hearing and even with a cheap hearing amplifier it's tough hearing the dialogue over the music. My wife has excellent hearing and she says the same thing.

That one that Michael linked to in Amazon is the same one that's in my Amazon wish list. The only reason I haven't ordered it is because my wife is fine with the built-in speakers in the Sony TV we bought. And I don't watch TV without closed captioning on, so I don't care enough.

When I clicked on it at Amazon, Rakuten showed that it's $130 at HSN. I'll be curious to see how you like it, Michael. As a hearing aid wearer, there's a bit of an artificiality to the sound enhancement, but you do get used to it. I'll be interested to know how this soundbar actually sounds.

I have the Vizio 3651 (was recommended by Wirecutter). It has the sound bar and wireless subwoofer and 2 rear satellites which are wired to the subwoofer.

It comes with wall mount brackets. I mounted the sound bar a couple of inches under the tv.

Sounds great.
