#2 just means they're a cheapskate, even though they are still paying the electrical bill and their profit line is hurt. Kinda like the place we were at for Christmas, with freezing air leaking through one or two windows.

I must admit I don't understand #1, is that part of the MAGA universe somehow?

My father-in-law is a conservative. He eats off plastic plates and drinks from plastic bottles, all of which go straight into the garbage. If the consequences don’t affect him directly, why should he bother recycling or being socially responsible? I get that, habits become lifestyle choices. I did though last live in a suburban neighborhood where pulling the recycling bin out to the curb happened each Tuesday no matter how you voted.

My Parents were old school Republicans. And environmental activists. When Mom wore this T shirt to the Republican Women’s caucus they were very confused:

“Conservation is Conservative “.

Mom still composts, recycles, etc. and voted Trump. Despite 4 of her 5 living children telling her it was a bad idea.
