The Cube

I’m still in original owner. $900 on clearance at compUSA, Man, I feel old. It’s upgraded to an 800 Mhz CPU and newer GPU. I’ve also got a couple of others that are not upgraded much aside from the SSD. I’ve got a spare GeForce GPU, I just haven’t gotten around to putting it in one yet.

When I have a little cash I’ll buy one or two more.

You are making me feel REAL old.

The Cubes have all aged gracefully here Smile Still probably the owner of the fastest Cube ever, prototype dual processor card & a NVidia GeForce3 shoehorned into one of mine.

One Cube here, a Radeon upgrade GPU that needs new caps, a GeForce 2 yet to be installed, and an iSub.

At the very least, I should swap in an SSD.

No doubt it needs an adapter of some nature.

I should do the same to my ILamp.

A TAM....one day....

A guy on eBay hacks dual processor cards for the Cube. May not be the fastest on the Block much longer.

Exactly ONE. :-) But a full pack of labels too.

I was a victim of downsizing a few years ago, and I'm pretty sure my stash of old floppies didn't make the cut.
Glad yours did.

We have a Del Webb retirement community about 15 minutes away from the OWC headquarters, and they had an active computer group of retirees there a few years ago and a couple of them have donated their vintage collection to our vintage collection that needs to become a museum at some point here at OWC. One of them that came in about 6 months ago had tons of old 5-1/4 floppies in it, lots and lots of 1978-79-80 Elephant Systems, Verbatim, Maxell discs & sleeves in there.

Always loved this logo.

I think he went all the way up to 800 MHz. I know there are people to get them up to 1000.

I think the hacked versions use the version of the G4 that generate less heat and use less power.

OWC should sell cubes for $3000 apiece and throw in a free CPU upgrade.
