I encourage everyone to post, it provides more variety. Some things I post have little response when I expected much more. Some topics I post thinking it won't get much traffic, end up with a lot of interesting discussion. You never know.

There's a subtle level of sarcastic, smug, shaming attitude that is prevalent here that I can see how it discourages people from posting. There's also a subtle tinge of "casual racism" that pops up once in a while from a handful of members. Not on a daily basis or anything. But it's enough for me to sometimes say to myself, "Ehhh,, not worth the effort."
