Bernie's Skunk Works .... Dis is not a Drill
#1

This is not a drill. This is a solution. Tell us what it is or what makes it so special.

I am beside myself. For years I have had this need that neither YouTube or Amazon could fulfill.

Sometimes it is best to see the device being used. Here is an action shot. Glorious!

So have you ever grabbed a battery that has full voltage but no ass? That ass is called amps but I had no way of testing a battery for amps.

Nothing on line that was quick and easy to test a battery. This is quick and easy. This drill is a cheap ass drill that I bought for the batteries that came with it. Yep it was cheaper to buy this drill with 2 batteries than I could buy just the batteries. There have been times that I thought of just tossing it.

Then it came to me. Of all the Black and Decker tools I have this would be the easiest candidate to get into and just pull a wire out of to read amp draw.

As you can see the inrush current of this Battery is 7.5 amps. I will charge it up and check it latter.

Every battery I have reads 18 volts or better but my inrush current is 2.7 in one I am going to toss and over 10 amps in the ones that are keepers.

And that forumites is something that even made my wife smile.

It is a Battery Tester.

Electric fire starter?

The decimal point position might help, is that red wire serving as a fuse when it exceeds 75 amps? The fact that it's AC is also interesting for a DC motor and battery.

You got me there. I have to turn the meter off and back on to reset the inrush current. I was off a click there. Should be DC amps. There was a decimal between the 7 and the 5.
