Your periodic Nextdoor update: parking in the garage!

Ours recently had someone posting about finding a "noodle in their fried rice" including a picture and that they would be "contacting the manager".
Nextdoor posts sometimes remind me of years ago when AOL users got access to the full internet.

I stay away from Nextdoor most of the time... Pop in to see what's going on, then run away again.

Try sharing it with a gated community filled with ultra-conservative New York retirees with an overzealous HOA.
When they aren't complaining about how horrible the local pizza places are they are posting complaints at 8:01am that someone did not bring their trash can in at 8:00am even though the trash pickup wasn't there yet. Every week it is repeated.

The person is concerned about unusual behavior because their neighbor PARKED IN THEIR OWN GARAGE? I wonder if it could have something to do with, say, forecast inclement weather?
What possible harm could this skittish worrywart be concerned about from their neighbor parking in their own garage instead of on their own driveway? That they're moving a body or drugs to/from their trunk? The great meteor or Yellowstone supervolcano can't come soon enough.
That this was ripped from the headlines of "The Onion"
I like Nextdoor for general event information and/or getting recommendations for service work/etc.
However, most of the posts are "did anyone hear gunshots?" or "did anyone hear that loud noise?" amongst dozens of lost pet notifications.

Wow.
We also get tons of OMG A COYOTE!!! Or I saw a loose dog on some road last week. But it can be useful sometimes (sold a toolbox using it two weeks ago) and entertaining. |
