I bristled when the music of my youth started being played on the Oldies station a few years ago. Sure, the songs were old and older but certainly not "oldies". Then it happened recently listening to these songs and they do have that "oldies" quality to it. Crap!

When I first started in radio in 1964, the Oldies Show featured tunes from the previous year and stretched maybe 8 years into the past. Presently, Oldies are from the beginning of the Rock Era up til more years back than they used to be.
So, yes, you are old.

Yeah, I can think of some songs from the 60s-70s that would sound like oldies, and a bunch that would not.
Which songs are you referring to?

I tried to deny it but for some reason it hit me this past week.
