UPS service like I've never seen!
#1
I ordered a 5 quart jug of Mobil 1 for the Prius and a car wheel brush from Amazon. They were delivered today, problem was the delivery bag for the brush was empty. I went ahead and filed to have another shipped but they were out of stock. About 2 hours later the UPS guy backs into the driveway and wanted to know if we ordered something we didn't get and my wife said yes a brush, he says I have your brush, the bag was never sealed at Amazon and I take it the brush just fell out. He said he was backtracking his route until he found out who it belonged to, WOW talk about going above and beyond!

Normally we get everything from an Amazon delivery van and I have to wonder if they had went to this much trouble. BTW: the Mobil 1 0W-20 was cheaper than anyone else right now.

I tried to find a way to commend the delivery person online but couldn't.

Sadly, might be best if you didn't single the driver out. Corporations expect efficiency, not service.

That's pretty cool.

I had a good UPS experience today myself, I ordered some electronic components on Wednesday (there are very few cities that still have specialty electronic parts stores, and Atlanta is not one of them), original tracking said it'd arrive next Tuesday. Found it on my doorstep this afternoon.

Our old FedEx driver was great, and when my back was really messed up in '08 and '09, our UPS driver would actually bring the packages inside for me.

If you get the opportunity to connect to them, you can find some great people, in all sorts of jobs.

Our local mail carriers and Post Office managers were really great when I had an identity thief latch on to me a couple of years ago. He'd tried to have my mail held, presumably so he could retrieve it and go through bank statements and such. They cut that off and provided me with a lot of documentation to give to the police (who, AFAIK, never caught anybody, unfortunately).

Years ago our UPS driver used to bring a dog biscuit for our dog when he came to our door. The dog got very used to this and looked forward to it.

One day we were out driving with the dog in the car and at a stop light a UPS truck was next to us. The dog was all excited wagging her tail looking forward to the "special delivery" that comes from the brown truck.

Just this Sunday UPS delivered a package to my house. They left it about a foot and a half from the side entrance in the driveway. My neighbor notified me because she was worried my daughter would run over it when she came home. It was in a direct line from our downspout and rained before we knew about it. The box was totally soaked. The contents were for my CPAP and all sealed separately in plastic bags. We have a covered porch. We have now put a sign on the side door to deliver all packages to the covered porch.

I have great instructions for Amazon in our account. They are very good about it. I wish we could do that for FedEx and UPS. If there is a way, I don't know about it.

A few years back, FedEx delivered my rifle stock to the next door house, which was being gutted and under construction. How the driver got to the front door of a house without stairs, and the overhang obviously removed, and the house gutted and empty, is beyond me. The box was disintegrating in the rain. Took days to find it. The contractor brought it over as a wad of wet fibers with a piece of wood in the middle. If it wasn't laminated wood, it would have been ruined. Why would a driver pick THAT door as mine?

A good friend of mine is a 15+ year driver with UPS in central WI. she says most drivers carry some sort of dog treat to appease pups when they make a delivery.
