Goal - Visit a Buc-ee's

My friend in Houston loves it. Next time I visit him. I also want to try one of those stuffed Turkey Legs at the Turkey Leg Hut. Hut food is pretty good overall.

My wife and daughter travel through the region occasionally for work and really enjoy their visits. Going to College Station TX this weekend for an event and will probably stop over at a Buc-EEs or two on the trip.

visited the one in GA a few weeks ago. it’s like the cracker barrel gift shop on steroids combined with an over stuffed QT. they seem to have everything EXCEPT the best price for gas. far from it. won’t bother going back for that reason alone.

We love Bucee’s. First one we stopped at was in Alabama on our cross-country trip this spring. There’s one about 45 minutes from us in Daytona that we’ve gone to a few times. We’ll be going by it twice this coming Sunday and are already planning to stop.

Not sure about that, since they usually have a competor right across the expressway. But even so, the clean restrooms are the REAL draw.

Coffee is a solid MEH, tho.

I have never heard of this place. I’ll have to check out where the one GA location is.

It's... okay. I laughed because for all their items, I couldn't find a loaf of bread. But it's truly not a convenience store. It's a little good-ole-boy carnival.

I think I’m temporarily in buc-Ed’s territory but I personally can’t understand that level of enthusiasm for a gas station.

Clean, well-stocked, friendly. Did I mention clean? The whole place, but here I'm calling out that their bathrooms are kept clean and offer private stalls. (and by private I don't just mean walls, I mean like private room type, per se)

If you travel frequently, this is reason alone for stopping there over other places. I've gone to gas stations along various routes where I didn't even want to pee in the bathroom, and I'm a guy.

I'm very happy there's a few on the route my wife and daughter typically take.

FWIW, in this category, Love's comes in second for their preferred stop spots.

It’s on I85 around exit 310 IIRC. yes the restrooms were very clean but so are the ones at any QT so that’s what I compare them to. Buc-ees billboard advertising highlights the experience of going there. Other stations billboards show their current gas prices. There’s a reason Buc-ees doesn’t. They are not competitive at least not for this particular GA location.
