.....The Fox family’s journey into the wilderness has been cut short: Apple TV+ has cancelled The Mosquito Coast after two seasons

The Mosquito Coast starred Justin Theroux as inventor Allie Fox, who lives off the grid with his wife Margot and their two teen kids. In Season 1, Allie took his family on the run and got entangled with Mexican drug cartels south of the border. Season 2 found the Foxes retreating to the jungles of Guatemala to live with a community of refugees. Melissa George co-starred as Margot, with Logan Polish as daughter Dina and Gabriel Bateman as son Charlie.

It debuted on Apple TV+ in 2021 with a seven-episode freshman season, returning for Season 2 this past November. The 10-episode Season 2 wrapped up earlier this month......

One of Us Is Lying Cancelled at Peacock

.....Simon says: Game over. Peacock has cancelled the teen mystery drama One of Us Is Lying after two seasons

Peacock has cancelled Vampire Academy as well after one season. Per Deadline, executives at the streamer “were happy with both shows creatively, but they just didn’t find the requisite audience to justify further seasons.”

Season 2 of One of Us Is Lying debuted with all eight episodes on Oct. 20 and wrapped up with several twists: After discovering that Fiona knew Jake from rehab and that she was Simon Says, Murder Club came up with a plan to frame her for Jake’s murder. But Maeve didn’t think their scheme would work, so she secretly went dark side and teamed up with Fiona to get the video of Murder Club with Jake’s body, which angered both Janae and Bronwyn..........

SEAL Team Renewed for Season 7

.....Bravo has more fight left in it, now that Paramount+ has renewed the military drama SEAL Team for a seventh season.

We look forward to bringing SEAL Team fans even more of the series’ poignant storylines and thrilling missions with the upcoming seventh season,” said Tanya Giles, chief programming officer of Paramount Streaming. “The series continues to evolve and grow its audience. It is a great example of the types of programming that we see resonate with our subscribers.”

Just last week, Giles told TVLine the streamer was “not quite yet” ready to announce Season 7, though she noted that SEAL Team had proven itself to be “one of those shows that had that successful move from broadcast to streaming. We’ve found that a couple times now, and that was great to see.”......

Murder, She Wrote-esque Drama Starring Retta Snags NBC Pilot Order

......Erstwhile Good Girl Retta will channel her inner Jessica Fletcher in Murder by the Book, a new crime drama that just snagged a formal pilot order at NBC.

The potential series, which was put into development last fall, stars Retta as a woman who reviews murder mystery books for a living and puts her expertise to work as she “becomes an unlikely detective to uncover the shocking truths about an eccentric seaside town,” per the official description.

The project reunites Retta with Good Girls showrunners Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs. The Parks and Recreation vet costarred with Christina Hendricks and Mae Whitman on the late NBC dramedy, which was suddenly, surprisingly put out to pasture by NBC nearly two years ago.......
