NEC EA242WU 24" Monitor
I’m trying to set up and use a secondary work area. I’ve moved a 2012 Mini in here and a couple of laptops. as well as some scanners (flatbed, film, Fujitsu doc scanner). I was using an old, small (although quite nice) NEC with the Mini: it has a 4:3 aspect ratio and can do 1600 x 1200 max. For most of what I want to work on in here, though, a bigger and wider screen is better. The new NEC is 24", and has a 16:10 aspect ratio, which I prefer. It’s not wide gamut, but it looks good.
The Mini is connected via HDMI, and my 2011 MacBook Pro is hooked up right now via DisplayPort, with a Mini DisplayPort adapter connecting the DisplayPort cable to the MBP.
Setup was very simple, and today I got it calibrated. Now I have no excuse not to get some stuff done, right?
So far I’m very pleased with it.
I really like not squinting at my laptop screen and it should be a big improvement for cleaning up scans.
