Wife and daughter are doing a cruise next December. I'm thinking it might be a good time to visit my good friend at The Villages in FL. So what's the best way to find a reasonably priced (or even cheap) round trip flight lately? All I know is I don't want to fly Spirit. Otherwise, I'm not particularly fussy. Do people still use Expedia, Kayak or whatever? or am I better off checking airlines' websites? \
Thanks.

No suggestions: I haven't flown since November 2019. I think I used Expedia, also used Airfare Watchdog.

Kayak is one useful site, but I just checked and the options provided were no different than directly checking airline websites. But you could compare directly.

jetblue sux.
Delta has been consistently improving the last few years.

We've been flying Southwest mostly, though also compare using Expedia just in case there is a better deal (there usually isn't, especially if you want to check baggage). I ignore Spirit and JetBlue. Southwest does not show its flights on expedia. I have crossed-checked Expedia at the actual airline sites from time to time but found no bargains.

Thank you, all. A quick search has them all showing in the $288- $388 range, round trip. We've always had good luck with Jet Blue and even Southwest. Delta was okay, though I thought we were going to overshoot the runway the last time we flew with them. Granted, these were all several years ago, so I'm sure much has changed.
Google flights seems to be a convenient way to compare. FWIW, I checked that out in incognito mode, as I'm sure as soon as they see you researching, the prices will magically climb.

JetBlue has been fine with us, probably better than AA.

Drive. If you have a Chevrolet, see the USA.
So far over the last couple of months we drove from Minnesnowta to McAllen, Tex., then to Key West, Fla., now we are in Mexico City for a month. Not one moment did I wish I was flying.

Pfftttt. If it weren't 1k+ miles and 20+ hours of driving I might consider it. Who am I kidding. I wouldn't consider it if it were
half that distance.
