new iPod
#1
So i took my iPod to the Apple Store in Southpoint (NC) to exchange it. What are the odds that they would have another 3 year old 20 gb iPod in stock to trade for mine? Oh well, i can't complain. I got another one and it works great. Gotta love the Applecare.

Dang! I would've been betting on a new model too!

I won't say i wasn't a little let down. But realistically, i should have expected exactly what i got. and i am happy I have a working iPod now. If they didn't have mine in stock, I'm sure i would have gotten a newer one.

you could probably sell it for $140 and buy a refurb video iPod from Apple for $180.

Just a thought.

IS the one of the super slim 20 GB iPod? My buddy has one and I couldn't believe how small that thing was. Yes, you might be able to sell it for about $140 and pickup a 30 GB Refurbished video for $179.00

You can just swap a broken one under warranty right there on the spot?

yup. I walked in, put my name on the "concierge" list. they called me up. I told them it stops copying songs at about 400-450. I told them i ran the diagnostics and it would never complete the HD scan. i told them i tried with multiple cables. Then I told them i had Applecare. He went back, got me another, did some paper work and i walked out with a working ipod. It took about 45 minutes with the wait. I'm just glad i went on Monday. I cannot imagine the wait on a weekend.

I'm not sure how many different 20 gb versions there were. I definitely don't think of mine as super slim. Especially compared with all the new fangled ones.

I'd watch the battery life-- should have at least 8 if not 10 hours of runtime.
