Braces

Teenager kid finished his braces treatments a year ago and now wears retainers at night.

We left for a two week vacation in Europe and due to chaos over the past few days, he forgot his retainers at home.

I should probably call the orthodontist tomorrow to ask for advice. I can probably get a friend to go home and FedEx those to us, but we are moving around from place to place and it’s hard to make sure we intercept the package.

Has anyone been through a similar situation and do you have any suggestions?

I can. Tomorrow morning when they are open. It’s Sunday night here so MRF are online and maybe someone has been through this before.

I seriously doubt any local dentist could get a retainer to fit made that fast. And if you're bouncing around, you probably wouldn't be able to get them. Probably easier to forgo it and schedule an appointment the moment you get back to assess if any "damage" was done...

You could have them overnighted or 2 day to a location that you will be at in a few days. Call the destination to give them a heads up. Haven't had to do this personally, but have had colleagues that needed work items sent to them. Probably won't be cheap.

I agree, two weeks won't make much if any difference.

Maybe it adds two or three weeks to the regimen.

Get thee to a sporting goods store ASAP, and buy an athletic, boil to fit, mouth guard. That'll tide ya over til ya get back. Way le$$ than FedEx fees.
