I’ve got the older version. Three units give me 5 bar’s throughout the house. Trivial to set up.

Is there any downside to this being an 'AMZ product'?
As in if one divorces himself from AMZ completely, or is accused of disrespecting an AMXZ driver, does the network get shut down. Ok obviously nothing that drastic, but still... I might consider replacing my last gen AEBS with it. 'Basic Box packaging'? No retail boxes, plain brown wrapper?

I see there is some subscription service available, but it doesn't seem to be rquired.

I’ve ignored the subscription stuff. I still get bug fixes and security updates. Don’t care about the rest.
