I was waiting for one of these for my son.
$59 at the Apple refurb store now (reg price $79).
The markdowns on the nanos are much higher (1st and 2nd gen avail.). But he wanted one of these little shuffles.

Only $39 for AppleCare for it. : )
I think I'd just purchase two, instead. lol (especially with the 1st Gens that are only $49 w/$39 AC).

y. thought that was funny too.
BTW, if it goes out of stock, just keep checking. As was noted in an earlier thread, Apple refurb stock tends to go in and out of stock on a daily basis.

I don't know- considering the Shuffles have a half-life of less than a year, and Applecare lasts for three, I'd say its a better deal to buy one and Applecare. You end up with a 'new' refurb shuffle every year.

Looks like AppleCare on iPods is only for two, not three years.

Considering the hassles, I view these kinds of ~$50 purchases as more-or-less disposable. If it breaks in 1.5 years, I'll probably be able to get a similar item for less than $39.
