some interesting Finder behavior (Ventura)
#1
I was downloading a large file. I thought it was done and went ahead a moved it to another drive for storage and trashed the original. A couple of minutes later I heard a tone indicating that the download was completed.

oops

I looked at the file that I moved and it showed a generic icon and 300mb. I looked in the trash and found the completed file - with a custom icon - 320mb. It works.

I moved the file while it was downloading and the finder was smart enough to finish the download even though the file was now in the trash.

hmmm...

The app you were using to download the file used an alias reference to the file so that when the file was moved to the trash the operation completed.

That's neither unique to Ventura nor an operation of the Finder.

Im spoiled with an internal 3000 MB/s (only OS) and an external 2500 MB/s Thunderbolt drive.
For 300 MB, I doubt it takes longer than 1/10 a second to transfer.

I rarely empty my trash =)
