Well, I'm not sure what happened to my friend, but I managed to get one (there were several at the store). I may stop by again on the way home tomorrow and snag him one. I wonder if there'll be any issues w/t rebate and using the same credit card and OD Rewards Number again?

Edit: I hope these aren't really old stock, like the one I got at Compusa that had a manufacture date of 27 months prior to my purchase date. :-)

Drove 20 miles to get one, only to find out I was 5 minutes too late; last one sold. The store manager said he would get one for me and UPS it to my home. $199 on sale for $100 minus $50 rebate. A excellent deal since my 3 year old 500VA Belkin went belly up this morning.

I'm going to get one, but here comes the Q I always ask: can you set the thing so it will Not beep during an outage? -For home use when you don't want middle of the night wake-ups.
