Some years back I reserved a car with them for a holiday visit to my family in Atlanta. When I got to the front desk… no car. For a WHOLE bunch of people. An hour later… still no car. I ended up having to have my sister drive 30 miles (one way) in the middle of the night in pouring rain to pick me up.
They’ll never get a dime of my money.
I had another rental situation (different company) during my most recent trip back there. Ended up having to wait nearly an hour to get a car. While I was waiting I read Yelp reviews for the various rental companies at that airport — the reviews for SIXT were horrible. Then again, so were the ones for the company from which I was renting.
My advice? Check out Yelp reviews for the SIXT location from which you would rent.

Look at the aggregate site
https://www.autorentals.com/ it will compare all offerings from every option at your selected airport for the dates you need. Be sure to look at the total price and not just the daily rate.
I glanced at the last week of September and Autoeurope was slightly cheaper than Sixt. I've used AE in the past and they just went through Avis. So I got a car from the Avis fleet at about half the rate Avis was charging.

Never again. They are notorious for damage charges. Any savings will be offset very quickly.

I rented from SIXT all the time in France. We got a really good company discount.
Don't recall any major issues.

Don't. Because of terrible reviews re:damages, I paid for their waiver both times I rented from them, pretty much doubling the cost of rental. They still managed to stiff me for a number of non-existing charges.* It may be nice to drive a luxury car for the price other companies charge for a compact, but stay clear.
*The arriving airport was closed for two days, so I picked up the pre-paid car two days later when it reopened I managed to arrive on a different flight. I said I would be willing to pay for full 10-day rental period, but asked them to take off the waiver and extra driver charges for those two days only. They "opened up a ticket" and kept my money.

Have you looked at Turo? It is basically a car sharing program. You rent from a private owner thru the app and it is often a great deal. We needed a van once and rented someone's 2015 Odyssey van for like 40$ a day.
