Hear me out - DJT stock is telling us more than I realized
#1
Today's double news is intriguing to me. I believe they demonstrate what's called 'revealed preference' - that is, not what polling numbers say but what people REALLY think. After all, this is about real $$.

First, another 18% stock dive on a formal SEC filing around DJT housekeeping announcement. There is literally nothing material in this 'news' or the 200+ page report. No new dilution, etc.

Second, the news that His Orangeness REALLY is in court came out. Not just allegations, etc. Real court proceedings with jury selection in the works.

So why would there be a bigger-than-anticipated dive?

I think the court news finally broke into the MAGA bubble. Even the die-hard finally are seeing that their 'prophet' is really ALL about 'profit'.

We will see whether this is the last straw for a few %. All it takes is 3% to swing the election.

I could be wrong, and maybe this is due to novice investors falsely thinking DJT was trying to scam them again, too!

Either way, I am leaning towards the reality that the visuals of being in court is actually far worse for the current GOP nominee than many pundits think. The science of revealed preferences suggests this kind of data is far more accurate than literally any 'market' assessment.

Seeming to fall asleep during the proceedings doesn't help his Sleepy Joe accusations either.

Oops ... covered in another thread. Sorry

I thought that Trump going to court might dilute his support, as well. So I was surprised to see this AP poll report this morning that only 35% of Americans think that Trump did something illegal concerning this court case. There continues to be a drop-off in support if he gets convicted.

I think you are really underestimating the power of Trump's RDF.

Steve Jobs' RDF was nothing compared to the Orange RDF.

Oh, and DJT is up almost an entire 2% in pre-market trading.

It's all upside from here!

So you want me to buy slightly-above low and sell lower?

At the time of this post, it's off another 14%. Just kind of a steady droop, like a deflating balloon.

It's too bad I don't have more confidence about how to short stocks properly - this seems like it was a golden opportunity.

Others think the same.

99% of the available options to short this stock are taken. And there is a record fee.
