Trump jury - 1/3 of the way there
#1
Six jury members have been seated out of the 18 that will be selected. The prosecution has not objected to any of the potential members while Trump's defense team is dragging up years-old social media posts. While the judge has excused a few for cause, he does not want to hear about every juror's social media history. He has told the defense team to question those posts during the initial questioning rather than bring them in one by one.

Donald Trump's team has used six of his 10 preemptive challenges.
The district attorney's office has used four of its 10 challenges.

He also warned Trump not to engage jurors as it could be construed as intimidation. He apparently saw Trump staring at a juror and making a face.

The next group of potential jurors are going to be sworn in today with questioning to start tomorrow.

Those jurors are brave.

It's like going into a trial against Satan himself.

CNN coverage noted the stark contrast of Trump’s team delaying for months vs the surprisingly rather expeditious seating of jurors as run by Judge Merchan.

"Under questioning by former President Donald Trump lawyer Todd Blanche, one of the prospective jurors, who previously worked in New York City law enforcement, disclosed that he knew some of the five teenagers convicted in the 1989 Central Park jogger case, one of the most notorious episodes from Trump’s past."

I'm a little concerned by some of the comments made by the people chosen so far.

One of them says he thinks Trump is "fascinating and mysterious". Another says: "'President Trump speaks his mind, and I'd rather that than someone who's in office who you don't know what they're thinking.'" Another said they were a big fan of "The Apprentice." :barf:
