Biden authorized FBI assassination of Trump!

Yeah, no. This is what happens in the right-wing echo chamber/outrage machine these days.

Let’s start with Trump. Seems he retained highly classified documents and tried to conceal that fact - you may have heard about it. :wink:

So the FBI got a search warrant for Mar-a-Lago, and that included standard boilerplate reminding everyone of the FBI’s use of deadly force policy.

This has just now set the Right’s hair on fire, including the Former President:

After the trial today, Trump noted that the Department of Justice had “AUTHORIZED THE FBI TO USE DEADLY (LETHAL) FORCE. NOW WE KNOW, FOR SURE, THAT JOE BIDEN IS A SERIOUS THREAT TO DEMOCRACY. HE IS MENTALLY UNFIT TO HOLD OFFICE—25TH AMENDMENT!” In an email with a subject line “They were authorized to shoot me—I nearly escaped death…”

…Umm…you “nearly escaped death”? :S I dunna think that means what you think it means.

…the Trump campaign said: “Joe Biden was locked & loaded ready to take me out & put my family in danger…. But here’s the one thing they don’t know: WE WILL NEVER SURRENDER!”

So Faux News, the New York Post, even the Daily Mail are screaming in their headlines about “Deadly force”, with the latter calling it an “explosive new detail”.

And then MTG took it a step…well, a couple of steps beyond that saying:

“The Biden DOJ and FBI were planning to assassinate Pres[ident] Trump and gave the green light…. What are Republicans going to do about it?”

Well, what the FBI did about it was to release a statement clarifying that the Mar-a-Lago raid and search warrant followed standard protocol, which "includes a standard policy statement limiting the use of deadly force."

And, honestly, all the hubbub may be partly thrown up as a smokescreen to obscure the real news - that Trump’s lawyer found classified folders in Trump’s MaL bedroom 4 months after the FBI raid.

And of course, just a tip: if you’re planning on diabolically using the pretext of serving a valid search warrant as an assassination attempt, you probably shouldn’t specifically pick a day that you know your target will not be there.

…and, also, you probably shouldn’t make it clear to the target that a search is coming if he doesn’t comply with subpoenas.

Wait... there are EVEN MORE classified documents not turned over? Would these not make a NEW instance of not handing over the requested documents, new charges, a new case, possibly NOT presided over by Aileen Cannon? I know it's too late for that to happen before the election, but certainly can add to the trumped obamaed up charges he's already facing!

Yep, it's really difficult to "assassinate" the target of a search warrant if they are not present when it is served.
