Gene Hackman, two-time Oscar winner, found dead with his wife and dog in Santa Fe home
#1
Gene Hackman, the Oscar-winning actor who brought a flinty menace to films such as “Bonnie and Clyde,” “The French Connection” and “Unforgiven” was found dead Wednesday along with his wife in New Mexico, authorities said. He was 95.

The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department said Hackman, his wife Betsy Arakawa and their dog were found in their home and that no foul play was suspected.

RIP…

CO was my first thought. We have two detectors seeing has how we burn wood and use an oil furnace a fair bit.

RIP Gene and Betsy.

Wow… I saw the headlines… 95… I assumed natural causes. Shocking to see all 3 of them dead at once.

So many great roles over the years. R.I.P. Mr. Hackman. And thanks for your great work.

As we all get older we're less surprised to see these great older actors and public figures leaving us. But it's especially tragic when it's a family. I hadn't thought about CO, but when it says no foul play I guess that's a reasonable thought.

ditto.

CO detectors are inexpensive, consider having several.

I even have one on the nightstand, level with where my head rests on the pillow.

I can remember back in 72' hopping a bus to downtown Flint, to get in to see The Poseidon Adventure with one of the stars being Gene Hackman. I was too young to get into The French Connection, so this is probably the first time I saw him perform. Loved his character and have been a fan ever since. R.I.P.

Do you really think it was CO? Every house should have multiple CO detectors.
