My insurance is doing what it can to try to force me to use Express Scripts: no more 90 day supplies of anything if I want to get it from the pharmacy, rather than via mail. Picking them up myself ensures that my prescriptions don't end up in the wrong building or stuck at the local PO branch.

More insurance companies need some Luigi.

The CVS/ Caremark merger was a biggie… and yet, CVS is suffering from classic MBA-itis…. Pharmacists are overworked and underpaid, suppliers are by and large providing low quality super generics, AND they regularly fall afoul of DEA rules that make little sense (one case in point… the lone CVS in Athens, Ohio (home to Ohio University), has their allocation of Adderall dropped without considering the university population… many of whole are prescribed ADHD meds. )

Walgreens' downfall has been used to dunk on cities by MAGAs pushing that people stealing merchandise is the cause of it all. The perpetual doom loop perpetrated by criminal minorities and drug addicts/pushers. Same for the rest of retail.

I will say, around here at least, theft is a massive issue. The drugstore chain nearest to me generally has half empty shelves. Why? Because people roll suitcases in on a near daily basis, clear out entire shelves, then roll out. The city decided not to prosecute anyone unless they were stealing more than $10k worth of goods per day. Because of this, the police we instructed not to respond since no prosecution will occur. It's gone on for years.

Right. Theft is a problem. People steal. Junkies junkie. But that's everywhere. Not just key "political" cities.

I'm not aware of other cities that have made the same moves and have the same problems. Sure there's theft, but no where near on the same scale. Even the state says it has created a new type of organized crime. It's not junkies or people stealing to survive.

I know this. But it's everywhere all at once. Stealing, fencing you name it. Facebook and Twitter tells everybody what the scale is. Whatever is horrible for you where you live, the same thing is horrible for somebody in say Little Rock, Arkansas.
