Why RFK Jr wants American cereal to be more Canadian

https://www.bbc.com/news/videos/crld4egrkrxo

US Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr on Tuesday announced the US would ban eight commonly used artificial food dyes. Two petroleum-based synthetic dyes would be phased out in the coming weeks, and others by the end of 2026.

Experts have linked the dyes - which are found in dozens of foods, including cereals, candy, snacks and beverages - to neurological problems in some children.

The BBC's reporters in the US and Canada take a closer look at the difference between Froot Loops cereal made in both countries.

OMG, something actually on the "thats not a bad idea" scale? wth?

Although with no real actual consumption numbers, kinda hard to say the dyes are the only contributing factor... and how *much* of the dye does one need to ingest to make a difference. If you are a normal kid that eats normal foods fine. But if you live in WV, where pop is served at every meal... maybe not. Ala ricky bobby...

yes, 100%. Sorry, didn't mean to make it look like this guy has a brain. Just in shock that an actual good thing might come from the dept now that he's in charge.

My only question is which "experts" have made these links? And has their research passed peer review. Nowhere does it say. "Experts" chosen by RFKjr would be suspect, he has a history of cherry picking material that supports his own biases.

that's always a slippery slope with this admin (or maybe gov on the whole) -- who are these "people" or "experts"? per usual, zero specifics.

like the really big guy with tears in his eyes... which no one has ever actually seen... like a Canadian girlfriend.
