My wife would LOVE the 2 door SUV, but only 2WD.

The fastback SUV isn't too bad looking.

The other two variants are stodgy, and scream econobox styling.

For starting at $20.000, aesthetics are livable, at least with Door #3.

That's about all I saw of the article.

20-80% in 30 minutes seems slow.

Much remains to be seen about the Slate. The specs are fpr now missing a lot of specifics. Range (or low range) for an in city is not necessarily a problem especially as charging stations & level 3 becomes more available. I thought the idea of using wraps to “paint” the car was interesting. Especially when I see more and more people wrapping their cars routinely. All in all, early days. And the deposit was more to hold a place in the viewing line then as a down payment,

Out of Spec Reviews video.

Only 20 minutes (Kyle usually goes on & on for an hour or more).

Oooh, it has manual window cranks! That's an anachronism.

As the site points out, the vehicle has a lot in common with a kit car, except that the base model is ready to drive. (Here’s hoping that the panels are attached better than the cybertruck’s.) Another thing that I hadn’t thought about was that the electronics are reduced a minimum, no gps (use your own phone), no stereo (use your own phone and speakers). It does have backup cam (required by law in new cars), air conditioning, and cruise control with automatic braking. So a lot basics are covered. And one mention that I like was that the bed was big enough for a sheet of plywood. Hoping that means 4x8, now that would nice.

Most of what you wrote about the Slate is right in my wheelhouse. I don't NEED or WANT a lot of the gizmos forced on buyers today. My only beef so far is that I would like a model with a larger bed. I don't believe the model shown is 4' x 8'.

I'm hoping that Telo eventually reaches production. It's smaller than a Mini, but has the same bed size as a crew-cab Tacoma.

The mention of bring your own stereo reminds me that I used to, back in good old days, put my ghetto blaster in my back seat during long road trips. I wired it to run off the car power.
