Received my 12th Jury Summons in just under 15 years
#1
I think it might be because of my county's small population (under 30k plus about 2k inmates at the prison here). I've only had to appear two times and was selected once. I'd say there's a good chance this one will be cancelled also.

Wow, that's a lot of civic duty.

2k inmates in a 30k county??? I hope most of those are imports and not from your county.

Just got an email yesterday evening that I didn't need to show up Monday morning. I have received a summons just about every other year since I moved here 38 years ago. Know other people who have been around almost as long who never received one. At least they all have been for the county courthouse, so far none from the federal courts. I look forward to the next one which I can refuse on grounds of age.

Yikes!
I think I've averaged about once every seven years (San Diego, CA from 1990 onwards) - I'm probably due sometime soon.

I was summoned about 2 months ago.
Usually I always get rejected from serving as the trial is about a drunk driver
or similar, when I confide that my brother was killed by a drunk driver the defense
doesn’t want me on the jury. Usually I don’t even have to say I have zero tolerance,
they assume.
This last one was a repeat robbery on a convenience store 5 miles from mine.
I said, ok, repeat offense, that means targeted to me, that puts my employees and livelihood
in danger, I cannot be partial.
Summoned several times, served once.

I’ve lived in my current state for 30 years and have only been summoned twice. First time we got as far some people being questioned but then the defendant pled to a lesser charge. Second time, I left for lunch and when I came back was told that we were all dismissed.

I've been summoned maybe five or six times, went to the courthouse a couple or three times, and never once invited to go to a courtroom. Total waste of my time. Everybody else except the potential jurors was getting paid for being there. The litigants wait until the day of trial to reach a settlement. There should be an automatic penalty for that, with the proceeds going to the jurors.
