Car battery

What brands are we liking for car batteries?

2018 Toyota Avalon needs a 24F battery. Southern California so don't need much temperature consideration. Car is garaged most of the time.

I just get an Autozone battery. It tends to last its full age and never gives me an issue.

I'm trying to figure out how we got from a $65 battery that lasted 48 months to a $180 battery that lasts 24 months.

Costco carries Interstate batteries at a good price point. They have been a good value and long lasting for me. Actually just bought one for my 1995 Toyota Tercel which was in stock locally. Pretty amazing (or lucky).

I've had three Interstate batteries in my 2002 car, to date.

The factory battery hemorrhaged after a couple of years, I don't remember the brand.

The Interstates lasted a very long time.

The only reason I replaced the last one it that it wouldn't hold a charge when not driven for about two weeks.

While sitting in my car with the radio/ACC (not A/C) the battery clicked the starter solenoid once then went to sleep.

So I'm happy with the performance and longevity.

The size category for my car is neigh obsolete, and Autozone, Pep Boys, and one other chain wanted $250-$300 for it.

Costco had it in 5 days for $84.

I'm happy.

car batteries are a commodity item. Compare based on size, whether its AGM, and warranty.

Not sure if this meets your need but this is an excellent value - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BXSQDNVZ

I just walk into the nearest auto parts chain, which happens to be NAPA, and ask for a battery.

The exception was the Prius, which took an odd 12V battery that was not stocked by everyone, so Amazon for that one.

Another vote here for Costco’s Interstate batteries. Good price and a good variety of sizes.
