I LOVE JEN PSAKI — COLBERT, not a bit.
#1
Colbert is smarmy, not funny, frequently doesn't know much about the interview material, and just doesn't know when to shut the fk up.

The cold open was amusing; Colbert had nothing to do with it.

Last night or a few hours ago, Jen Psaki was a guest on his show.

He'd ask a question, and then interrupt her with his answer or another question.

Dude, your guest is far more knowledgable and smarter than you; don't prove it.

Anyway, she was great.

She's got a show coming up, Tuesday - Friday, at 9:00 PM ET, if I recall correctly.

She'll be replacing Rachael Maddow.

I like Maddow but she has some presentation mannerisms of late that have come bug me a little.

So I hope to catch Psaki's gig, as it promises to be very entertaining and enlightening.

Here's a link to her segment on Colbert's show.

I cannot tell a lie. I love me some Jen Psaki. Going all the way back to her Press Secretary days.

There's just something about a woman with a huge brain, a nimble way with words, a cheeky smile and gorgeous red hair, that just curls. my. toes.

Alas, she is happily attached (not to mention young enough to be my daughter [of whom I'd be busting my buttons with pride]).

Annnnyway...

Colbert. Truth be told, despite my night owlish ways, for some reason or other, the late night shows haven't been in my rotation regularly since the Carson days. Don't know why exactly. I like a bunch of the hosts mightily. Best I can do is random drop ins and YouTube snippets.

Have always liked Colbert. If he is truly smarmy, I cannot separate it from his Comedy Central days. My conviction is that he has just never jettisoned that character entirely, likely because it brings home the bacon to this day, officially part of his act or not.

And he still makes me laugh.

We'll cover my Rachel Maddow adoration another time.

I used to like Colbert, but honestly I simply tired of him. He is the same thing night after night, and yes his interviews are no longer very good.

I still catch the monologue on YT, which I enjoy more often than not. 80/20? But don't watch the rest of his show... cause -- meh.
