Say "So long!" to Veterans Day as Trumpo flexes his enormous ego
#1
All things must conform to his midnight water closet visions of the Trumpocalypse...

Hence forth "Veterans Day" shall be no more. Welcome in its place the swanky swaying and fine stylings of "Victory Day for World War I".

It's all about the macho machismo of the US of A as seen by The Leader...
... nobody was close to us in terms of strength, bravery, or military brilliance...

I'm just surprised he hasn't invented a relative yet that was somehow crucial to the winning of one or both world wars.

WWII didn’t actually end on May 8.

There was still that Imperial Japanese thing that went on quite awhile after that.

Whenever the news from the real world goes against him, Trump thrashes around and spits out more illegal EOs and BS that he hopes will distract his base.

So, instead of having one Veterans’ Day for all; we will now just celebrate and thank vets from two wars only?? Umm…there were so many other wars with vets who are still alive that should be honored. Did I get that wrong ???

If it did not end glorious capitulation of our enemy then it is problematic for the Exceptional Amerika movement.

I'm hoping there will be major pushback on this, whether or not Pvt. Bonespurs changes his mind.

There was enough pushback when Veteran's Day was moved to Monday, to provide a three-day weekend, it got moved back to 11 NOV.

Of course that was when we had an administration that, in many instances, observed the will of the people.

It's not that I don't approve of having 'Victory Days' for specific wars.

The Korean Conflict/Police Action deserves a day of recognition.

But Pvt. Bonespurs is wrong to rename an established day of recognition.

Yeah, this is just CFDT yelling 'Squirrel!'.

Pvt. would imply he was actually in the military. I prefer Cadet Bone Spurs.

“The US won World War I and II”.

Absolute bollocks.

The Spanish Flu won World War I. The US showed up at the 11th hour. (My grandfather was in training in NY when his barracks died from the flu… only he and another boy survived).

The allies won World War II. The US showed up late to the war, and made BANK selling weapons. Producing the industrial might that pushed the US into global preeminence. Because every other nation was in ruins. More Soviets died in combat than any other nation. And men AND women fought the Nazis. And died by the millions.

This move is an insult to every veteran who served outside WW1 & WW2. Whether they were in peacetime or a conflict, Veterans Day honored them all.

He can take his EO and take a flying leap into his (not mine) Gulf of America.

I hope vets go after him in a big way, not just for his absurd attempt to rewrite history and insult our allies, but for all the program cuts and firings that will seriously hurt vets.

All of, vets or not, need to stand up against this nonsense.
