Looks like the hamster is running again... thanks OWC Larry... but do we have a backup strategy?

... I realized how frequently I check this place and rely on you all for valuable info. Particularly this past week, it would have been helpful, as I was dealing with some pretty bad Mac-related meltdowns.

So... my question is... as we always ask/tell each other: do you (we) have a backup strategy in place? Or at least someplace else to "meet" to know what's going on?

Feel free to reply with suggestions. (Big Grin

if we didn't have great backups - we'd not be posting right now.

that said - this was a pretty significant network incident and all sorts of restores and reactivations - all time.

In my 36 years, last week was more downtime for OWC sites in general than in all of time combined in those 36 years.

Someone suggested a paid membership - we could certainly move this to a paid platform hosted differently . Honestly, this wasn't a huge one to bring back up - team had a lot to bring up.

Thank you for the patience. We live, we learn. Struggle makes us stronger. We learned plenty for the next time... which we hope to of course avoid too. Smile

There was a thread about the OWC outage, with OWC Larry participating, on the Macrumors forum site: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/owc...o.2456863/

I'd suggest that we all go over and register for Macrumors in the event of a MRF disaster. You know, all good things come to an end and so it may one day go with MRF, leaving us all disconnected from our friends here. A contingency plan broadcast to all might be a good idea.
