Getting images to appear IN a posting?
#1
I miss this from the old forum.
Is it simply no longer possible, or is there some setting or preference or coding technique that I'm just not seeing?  Huh

But these only insert links. There's no way to upload an image.

I just drop the image on https://imgur.com, click in the corner on the 3 dots, then choose Get Share Links, and copy the BBCode (Forums) and paste here. works fine, no account needed, no limits

use new Reply button on the bottom right to get the full edit.
then click the Insert image icon.
Paste in link to that image that you have previously copied, and adjust height and width.

Or, to load images from your computer, below the message workspace is a block called Attachments.
You can drag and drop there.  And select insert into post at the bottom right.
It will insert at the cursor.

I've been having trouble loading an image to my signature. It's a small image but the forum enlarges it slightly after uploading and it looks fuzzy/out of focus. If I right click on it and 'open image in a new window' the image looks sharp, not enlarged. It's about 100x120 pixels at 72 dpi.

Fritz, thanks so much for this. I did not see it before!

When I use the "Insert an image" and the URL modification for a DropBox image file that used to work (I CAN see the image as I'm composing this post), the resulting live post just lists the URL itself, no image in the actual, finished post.

Without the URL mod it still doesn't work, but I can't even see the image in the window I'm composing the post in.

Dragging the image into the "Attachments" window does'nt appear to allow me to adjust the size of the image; it's just a "thumbnail"...

There is also a setting in the user options that controls this: Go to User Control Panel, then click on 'Edit Options' on the left side.  There is an option under Thread View Options to "Display images in posts" and "Display videos in posts".
