Looks interesting. Although I must admit, as much as I cursed Spotlight for starting to search before letting me finish entering a search term, it has found things I thought I had long ago tossed out. I find myself using it more rather than less.

well, I did say the other day: Google stuff is spyware.

I tried Google Desktop.

Noticed that it took 40% of my BlackBook's resources, even when not active.

Noticed the items that ansemond.com noticed.

Uninstalled. Dunno why I even wanted it. Just curious I guess.

My advice: pass.

I really dislike the fact that it doesn't use a standard installer, nor does it provide a log file of what was installed....just seems dishonest/fishy to hide that information.

Why not just use Locator as an alternate to Spotlight? fast, clean

I agree with some of the links, I use gmail regularly but would never install something with the potential to cause so many problems.
