I think it's pretty much idiot-proof, though you should check the paper version for errors, just in case. I've used TT previously to print out the paper version rather than to e-file. This year, I couldn't seem to find the freely downloadable version of TT, so I went with the H&R Block software instead. Worked fine.

Mine are now done, though filing for two states was really a pain. On the plus side, I'm getting a huge federal refund because of moving expenses.

I'm sorry, but I just don't know that I like the idea of all of these companies having all our personal financial info...

Hopefully not, the wife and I used it for the first time this year too. Just mailed the results in yesterday. This is actually our first time doing taxes as we're all adult-like now. Smile

Taxes?
I don't like no steenkin' taxes!
[Although, I do pay them, in case the Treasury Dept is monitoring this channel.]

Yah. You can print and mail in yourself.

From what I've read lately, the IRS is who you should be worried about having your financial information. Sad

Because it was free this year (thanks, State Farm) we used TurboTax Online for the first time. This is the first time we've ever done it any way other than by hand, using the IRS forms and instructions alone.

We were successful, and I would use them again (provided they're free).

Make your own conclusions....

I've been using it for years, it makes it so much easier, even with the three states I had to do this year.

I prefer paying my accountant about $1200/yr.
